Yoga for Covid: Immunity and Recovery

9 August 2021, Monday

Many have looked into Yoga as a great past time when staying at home during the pandemic. But have you heard about the multiple health benefits that Yoga has for those already exposed to COVID-19?

Nearly 10 percent of people diagnosed with COVID-19 experience prolonged symptoms, including trouble breathing, blood clots, headaches, nausea, muscle pain, and fatigue that last weeks, months, possibly years after testing positive for the novel coronavirus. Last year, researchers did a meta analysis of effective pulmonary, or lung, rehabilitation treatments and determined that breathing exercises that strengthen the diaphragm and stretching are important for recovery.

Yoga does exactly that. Think about your breathing exercises and the gentle stretches you do when on your mat. Yoga is helping long-haul patients in easing stress and pain, maintaining mobility, and breathing easier.

Here are a few Yoga you can try out to boost your immunity!
